Captain’s Log: November 16th

The whales are all gone, for the most part, now. But we do still get to see lots of other wildlife on our Hot Springs Cove Tour. A visitor favourite are the local sea otters. When I was young, sea otters were rarely seen due to having been almost completely wiped out by the fur trade for their pelts. But now, due to various conservation efforts, they have made an impressive comeback. And it is rare for us to not see them on our tours. Sometimes we even get rafts of 40 or more all together!
